Explain how a compass works and how to orient a map, and identify the symbols.
Using a compass take a 5 mile hike or 10 mile bike ride approved by your leader that you or he has made.
Since joining have participated in 5 troop activities 2 being overnight campouts.
On one of these campouts pick the campsite and sleep in a tent you pitched.
On a campout show how to safely sharpen a axe, knife, and saw. Then describe when they should be used.
Use the tools above to make tinder, and kindling for a fire.
Describe when it is safe to make a fire and when to use a lightweight stove. Discuss the safety features for both.
Demonstrate how to start a lighweight stove and camp fire.
On a campout cook one meal that includes all the four food groups, then tell why the nutrients are important. Tell how to safely store and transport food.
Participate in a flag ceremony for your community, or troop.
Participate in a approved 1 hour service project.
Identify at least 10 wild animals in your community.
Show what to do in hurry cases of stopped breathing, serious bleeding, and internal poisoning.
Perpare a personal first aid kit to take with you on your campouts.
Show First Aid for: object in the eye, Bite of rabid animals, Puncture wound, serious burns, heat exhaustion, shock, heatstroke, dehydration, hypothermia, and hyperventilation
Tell the precautions of swimming, then jump feet first into head level of water. Then swim 25 feet turn around sharply and swim back to the starting point.
Demonstrate rescue methods of reaching out or throwing something to someone swimming. Then explain why not to use the swimming rescue method.
Participate in a program that tells about the dangers of drug, alcohol, and tobbaco use.
Demonstrate Scout spirit everyday.
Participate in Scoutmaster Conference.
